About Panasonic

Panasonic is a Japanese multinational corporation, one of the world's largest manufacturers of home appliances, industrial equipment, security systems and consumer electronics. The company is headquartered in Kadoma, Osaka, Japan.

Today, the company incorporates over 600 production facilities. The key brands owned by the corporation include Panasonic (security systems, industrial equipment, microelectronics, home appliances and consumer electronics), Technics (professional audio equipment) and Lumix (digital cameras).

Founded over a century ago, Panasonic entered the video surveillance and security industry in the 1950s. The company offers a wide range of integrated solutions for building state-of-the art security and video surveillance systems to level up the performance and widen the functionality of a physical security team and reduce the system's total cost of ownership.

AxxonSoft and Panasonic Partnership

The companies have been partners in technology since 2004. AxxonSoft was one of the first software vendors to integrate support for Panasonic IP cameras into its products. Many security systems based on AxxonSoft solutions include analog and digital cameras from Panasonic.

One of the largest projects based on AxxonSoft software and Panasonic hardware was implemented in Mexico City International Airport with over 2000 cameras, real-time video analytics, and intelligent search across recorded videos.

Panasonic Technologies Integrated into AxxonSoft Software

Panasonic IP cameras have a number of advanced functions. Support for these functions in AxxonSoft software enables the creation of video surveillance systems with outstanding technical characteristics and compelling advantages for the user.

Video Analytics with Zero CPU Footprint

Network camera with ai engine

Panasonic hardware has built-in tools for video stream analysis and metadata creation. This metadata can be obtained, stored, and used by AxxonSoft software; the ONVIF protocol is supported. Once received from cameras, metadata can be used similarly to data obtained from a server analytics system: the metadata can be used to create real-time detection tools and power near-instant search of recorded video in MomentQuest.

The Axxon One and Axxon PSIM software platforms support Panasonic on-board detection tools based on MotionMask events. This is a multizone motion detection tool which, when integrated, makes it possible to receive and manage alarms generated by analytics embedded in cameras in various detection zones without needing to decode video on the server side. Thanks to this efficiency, several times less server CPU power is required.

Dynamic Adjustment for Network Conditions

By selecting one of the four data transfer modes available, you can squeeze out the greatest efficiency in the use of your video server's CPU, bandwidth, and disk space for video footage storage.

  • Constant bit rate. You can set the required video quality and maximum bitrate. The frame rate and minimum bitrate are automatically selected by the camera.
  • Frame rate. You specify the frame rate and maximum bitrate, and the camera automatically sets video quality and minimum bitrate.
  • Best effort. You set maximum and minimum bitrate, and the camera sets an optimal frame rate.
  • VBR. Bitrate is set automatically based on intensity of movement in the FoV.

On-Camera Dewarping of Fisheye Video

Panasonic cameras with fisheye lenses can transmit not only a complete image of 360° panoramic scenes, but also "adjusted" images processed with on-board dewarping. Panasonic cameras support four channel, panoramic (180°), and double panoramic (2 * 180°) viewing. A single camera with a fisheye lens can replace several fixed cameras. Receiving video from these "virtual fixed cameras" does not increase the CPU load on the client workstation on which the video is viewed.

Automatic Tracking of Moving Objects with a PTZ Camera

Auto Tracking allows PTZ units to automatically track moving objects. Available settings are Auto Tracking and Advanced Auto Tracking. The first setting causes the camera to follow any moving object; the second setting causes it to follow objects that occupy more than 30% of the FoV area. Automatic tracking enables you to obtain detailed images of moving objects without spending additional effort or resources.

Automatic Back Focus Correction

This function automatically corrects the back focus of the camera after switching between day and night mode, significant changes in scene, or temperature-caused fluctuations in camera settings. This gives you crisp images at any time of day.

Surveillance in Compromised Conditions

Image correction offers visible improvement to image quality in compromised environmental conditions: fog, rain, smoke, etc.

Optimum Surveillance

The Super Dynamic function widens dynamic range up to 144 dB while iA automatic configuration optimizes camera parameters for perfect scene imaging. This function drastically reduces the impact of backlighting and can also compensate for uneven lighting.
