On November 2, AxxonSoft took part in a workshop conference entitled "Security at Multifunctional and Sports Public Facilities" hosted by the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics in Minsk, Belarus.
The conference included plenary sessions, themed presentations, round tables, and an exhibition of modern comprehensive security solutions. The event was attended by nearly 300 representatives and specialists from Russian and Belarusian ministries and government agencies.
AxxonSoft Corporate Sales Director, Andrey Khristoforov, gave a presentation entitled "ITV | AxxonSoft Technology. Application at Infrastructure Facilities." He told about the benefits of a comprehensive approach to security.
At the accompanying exhibition, AxxonSoft presented its new module for searching for similar faces. The system facilitates the search for an individual and provides statistics of the individual’s presence within cameras’ range.
The system computes vector biometrics for each face captured by the camera, which are then recorded in the archive along with the picture. As a result, a database of all faces captured by the camera is accumulated. In addition, the system can search through the faces database by a frame from the video archive with the required face, by an URL to the face picture, or by a picture of the face uploaded to the system.
The system can be particularly helpful in large video surveillance systems, such as the Safe City system, and in investigative activities.
In the run-up to 2014 IIHF World Championship to be held in Minsk, the country’s law enforcers are preparing to commission the new upgraded security systems for the city’s key infrastructure facilities. The conference in Minsk, which allowed Belarusian specialists to summarize and adopt the experience of their foreign counterparts, will certainly contribute to reinforcing security in the Belarusian capital.
